VICTORIA “VICKI” HOUK BLOUNT
The Lord called Victoria “Vicki” Houk Blount home, at the age of 74, on March 31, 2022. She was born on April 6, 1947, in Louisville KY to the late George Eugene Houk and Helen Marie Epperson Brumback (Frankie).
She met the love of her life, Wayne Blount, in Louisville KY. They married and raised their family in both Abbeville and Columbia AL.
Vicki was a caring and loving wife, mother and daughter who loved her family deeply and fiercely.
Vicki attended and graduated from Troy State University where she received a degree in computer science. She was an entrepreneur at heart and had several successful businesses throughout the years, most notably Elegant Tents and Events that serviced the destination wedding industry in Destin FL. After 15 successful years, they decided to retire and move back to Abbeville AL. Vicki also loved to read, cook and travel.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Wayne Blount of Abbeville, Alabama; her son, Michael Blount (Andrea); her daughter, Amy Hulbert (Leland); her son, Gary Blount; her mother, Helen Brumback (Frankie); her six grandchildren, Dylan, Alec, Albert, John, Kaylie and Grey; her brother George “Pat” Houk (Gloria); her stepsister, Carol Hoskins (Ralph); her niece, Patricia Fajardo; and her nephew, Kevin Houk (Patty).
She was preceded in death by her father, George Houk and her step-father, Charles F. Brumback.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Jeff Brewer and Father Jim Dane officiating. A eulogy will be given by her son, Gary Blount. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
