BARBARA WARD SINGLETARY

HEADLAND, AL… Barbara Ward Singletary, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at her home. She was 81.

          Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Norman C. Simmons and Reverend Henry Fullington officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Abbeville, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2023 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in c/o Claudia Trawick, 213 McClendon Drive, Abbeville, Alabama 36310.

          Mrs. Singletary was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late James Robert Ward and Ora Dell Boyd Ward. She lived most of her life in the Newville/Headland, Alabama area. She retired from West Point Stevens as a Supervisor, in the fitted sheet department. She had over one hundred ladies under her management. Her favorite color was pink, but loved all the flashy colors. She loved her kids, but when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she showed them all a grandmother’s love.

          Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband, William Otto Singletary; her daughter, Kay Singletary; her son, Craig Singletary; her grandchildren, Kyli Singletary, Mason Singletary, Breana Money, and Brooke Martin (Chris); her great-grandchildren, Noah Martin and Rosilyn Martin; her special friends, Darlene Money, Jonathan Howerton, Karina Rodriguez, Martha Kirkland, Nina Kinsey, and Angie Jones.

          Serving as active pallbearers will be Craig Singletary, Mason Singletary, Micheal Aplin, David Gilmer, Chris Martin, and Jonathan Howerton.

          The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you, to Gentiva Hospice for their outpouring love and care through this difficult time.
