BERNESTINE REYNOLDS
NEWVILLE… Bernestine Reynolds, a resident of Newville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at her home. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Reverend Acy Tucker, Jermain Knight, and Hal Reynolds Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church of Newville Cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds was born in Headland, Alabama, to the late George Brown and Bernice Keyton. She attended local schools and went on to dedicate many years of her life to working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she was known for her compassion and gentle care.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Newville, Mrs. Reynolds lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was truly a loving family woman who found her greatest happiness at home, surrounded by those she cherished most. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, who brought immense joy and meaning to her life. Her warm spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who know her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Reynolds; her sisters, Gloria Jean Reynolds and Dorthy Nell Key; and her brothers, Willie James Brown and George Brown.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Oscar Reynolds; her daughters, Shalonda Kogutz (Sean) and Bernetta Simpson (Derrick); her sons, Ervain Reynolds (Cassandra) and Curtis Reynolds (Valeria); her sisters, Ella Mae Brown, Lavera McClain; her brother, Eddie Brown; her sixteen grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; and her several other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to SouthernCare Hospice, for their care and support to Mrs. Reynolds and her family through this difficult time.
