BEVERLY OUTLAW SHIRAH

HEADLAND, AL… Beverly Outlaw Shirah, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at her home. She was 75.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 1, 2021 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Dr. David Baker and Reverend Ryan Tyler officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery in Webb, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Bluff Springs Baptist Church, 1990 Bluff Springs Road, Ashford, Alabama 36312 or to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 2220 Otis Buie Road, Webb, Alabama 36376.

Mrs. Shirah was born in the Corinth Freewill Baptist Community of Dale County, Alabama to the late Rudolph Boaz Outlaw and Sybil Louise Newsome Outlaw. She lived her earlier years in the Dale County area. She graduated from Dale County High School. She attended Freewill Baptist College in Nashville, Tennessee and also Troy State University. She was employed for many years with Emmanuel Christian School as a teacher. She later served as a teacher’s aide at Headland Elementary School. She loved to play the piano and did so very often as she followed her husband, Dr. Mike Shirah, to the different churches he served. She was a member of the Bluff Springs Baptist Church.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Jason Shirah.

Leaving to cherish her memories is her husband of almost fifty years, Dr. Mike Shirah; her son, Jonathan Shirah; her sisters, Regina Espy, Vicki Outlaw, and Amy Outlaw; her brother Rodney Outlaw (Kay); her grandsons, Jacob Shirah and Ethan Shirah; her uncle, Dr. Stanley Outlaw; her sisters-in-law, Jolaine Chandler (Keith), Janet Owens (Calvin) and Joanne McInnis; her brother-in-law, Tommy Shirah (Diane); her several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Brody Shirah, Brandon Shirah, Brent Shirah, Ryan Outlaw, Luke Stevens, and Brent Murray.
