Mrs. Ethridge was born in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Gerald Gulledge and Emma Jean
Gulledge. She lived in Headland, Alabama, most of her life until moving to the Screamer Community of Henry County, Alabama, near Abbeville, Alabama, three years ago. During adolescence, Debbie was diagnosed with a congenital kidney disease and later underwent a successful kidney transplant with a donation from her mother, Jean. She graduated from Headland High School in 1985 and took cosmetology classes, but she soon found success in the world of retail management, where she spent her career. She worked with the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center, managing the furniture department, until she was medically retired due to her illness. She was a member of the Balkum Baptist Church.
Debbie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and wife. She loved her family above all else. In the early 2000s, she reconnected with a high school sweetheart, Keith Ethridge, and they married in 2007 at a beautiful ceremony in Gatlinburg. They had many happy years together, loved to host family holiday gatherings, and doted on their dogs Moe and Dixie.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry “Bubba” Gulledge.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her husband, James Keith Ethridge; her sisters, Marcia
Gulledge Hadden (Wayne) and Sheila Gulledge Welch; her brother, Anthony Gulledge (Amy); her father-in-law, Kenneth Ethridge; her sister-in-law, Kendra Ethridge Feltman; and her several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
