ABBEVILLE.…Donald “DJ” Louis Wood, a resident of Abbeville, AL passed away Thursday afternoon, July 9, 2020, at his home. He was 79.
Mr. Wood’s wishes was to have a simple cremation.
Donald “DJ” Louis Wood was born in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Edward Lee Wood Sr. and Leota M. Bretzke Wood. He lived in North Carolina before moving to the Abbeville, Alabama (Screamer Community) over 27 years ago. In his earlier years he was an automotive mechanic and later started working on small engines. He was well known for his tool sharpening skills and willingness to help others.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Joyce Zippel Wood; his daughters, Tena Gambrel of Indiana, Julie Neiner of Indiana, Nancy Edwards of Indiana, and Donna; his son, Donald Louis Wood, Jr.(Kathy); his step-daughter, Christine Aycoth (Joe) of North Carolina; his step-sons, Richard Cook (Kittie) of Abbeville, AL, and Shawn Cook (Jackie) of North Carolina also 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
