EDNA CHERYLENE GISSENDANER MOODY

SHORTERVILLE… Edna Cherylene Gissendaner Moody, a resident of Shorterville,

Alabama passed away Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026, at her home. She was 80.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday August 28, 2026, at Shorterville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Elder Josh Kennedy officiating. A eulogy will be given by her son, Todd Nolin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Moody’s honor to S.H.A.R.K. Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 126, Abbeville, AL 36310, or to the Shorterville Baptist Church Cemetery, 896 CR-65, Shorterville, Alabama 36373.

Mrs. Moody was born in Fort Deposit, Alabama, to the late Willie Gene Gissendaner and Leila Joy Childers Gissendaner. She was a dedicated employee of WestPoint Pepperell for many years and was a faithful member of Shorterville Baptist Church. She had a deep love for all of her fur babies.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Jay Scott Nolin.

Surviving relatives include her husband, John Robert Moody; her sons, Kevin Nolin (Gracie) and Todd Nolin (Peggy); her sister, Jean Littlefield (Johnny); her four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several other loving family members and friends.

Serving as active pall bearers will be Lee Forston, John Scott, Austin Scott, Brian

Phillips, Chris Harvell and Johnny Littlefield.
