FREDDIE MAE REEVES
HEADLAND… Freddie Mae Reeves, a resident of Headland, Alabama passed away Friday morning, August 30, 2024, at her home. She was 89.
Celebration of Life services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Peter A.M.E. Church with Reverend Joshua Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Freddie Mae Reeves was born June 12, 1935, in Newville, Alabama to the late Fred & Martha Thornton. Freddie was a loving wife and mother of five children. She lived in Headland, Alabama most of her lifetime, but had previously lived Westbury, New York. She was a member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Headland, Alabama.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Reeves; her son, Robert Charles Reeves; her sisters, Evelyn Kinard, Veverly Thornton, Rosie Mae Reeves; and her brother, Robert Earl Thornton.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Sue Reeves, Brenda Lee Reeves, and Donna Hicks (Anthony); her son, Norman Christopher Reeves (June); her sisters, Ola Hammock, Sarah Copelin, Martha Jewel Flemings, and Louise Williams; her brother, Jimmy Thornton; her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Thornton and Mary Reeves; her brothers-in-law, Alan Kinard and Harvey Reeves; her grandchildren, Kenneth Reeves (Brook), Akeem Thompson (TaQuawnah), Bobby Rogers, Coleman Pettway, Norman Reeves, Jr., Nicole Reeves, Dinesha Whitfield (Jamal) and Anthony Hicks, Jr.; her twenty great-grandchildren; her four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
