HARVEY REEVES

HEADLAND… Harvey Reeves, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at his home. He was 89.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at St. Peter A.M.E. Church, with Reverend Joshua Mann officiating and Reverend Bobby Joe Jackson giving a eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Reeves was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Christopher Columbus Reeves and Mollie Williams Reeves. He lived his entire life in the Headland, Alabama area. He was engaged in farming his whole life. He worked with the Falkner Family Farm in Headland, Alabama. He and the late Larry Falkner could be seen most of the time driving around checking on the crops and livestock. He was a member of the Peanut Growers Association. He was a devoted member of the St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Headland, Alabama.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-nine years, Rosie Mae Reeves; his daughter, Shirley Reeves; his son-in-law, Jack Austin; his eighteen brothers and sisters; his sisters-in-law, Everlyn Kinard, Veverlyn Thornton, and Freddie Mae Reeves; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Earl Thornton and Jimmy Thornton.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his children, Rose Reeves, Cynthia Austin, Sandra Edwards (Sidney), Paul Harvey Reeves, Shelia Weeks (Harold), and Jennifer Faniel; his sisters-in-law, Ola Bell Hammock, Sarah Ann Copelin, Martha Jewel Fleming, Louise Williams, Mary Ann Thornton, and Mary Reeves; his brother-in-law, Allen Kinard; his fourteen grandchildren; his twenty-six great-grandchildren; and a host of his nieces, nephews, family, and friends, including a very special friend James Larry Falkner.
