JAYSON MCCRAE HARBINSON

ABBEVILLE, AL… Jayson McCrae Harbison, a nomadic adventurer of Abbeville, Alabama and previously of Monticello, Kentucky, Leesburg and Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, tragically passed away January 15, 2023, while boating on a sailboat in the Florida Keys. He was 50.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Jayson was born May 10, 1972 in Orlando, Florida. He spent his early years in Bushnell and Leesburg, Florida. He received his diploma from Leesburg High School in 1992 and later received his certification as a World Class Welder from Tulsa Welding School.

Jayson lived a nomadic lifestyle, living for adventure and content with solitude moments. Fishing, hunting, skiing, diving, sailing, or getting wind therapy with his constant 4 legged companion (Seymore) riding shotgun on the back of the motorcycle. He was a loyal friend and brother to many, especially his boating family at Regatta Point Marina. He carried with him a boyish laugh and his memory will leave a void in the hearts of all that loved him!

Grass would not never grow under his feet. He belonged to no town, and had no restrictions. Now he has unlimited possibilities; sailing all seas, appreciating all sunrises and sunsets, and smiling at the humming birds feeding. He will oversee all storms to watch over those he loved. He will walk through the clouds, through fire, effortlessly glide down a double diamond, or stand firm in high tides or rough seas to stand beside you and protect you. He is free.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Jayne Mattox and Verol Wade Harbison.

Jayson is survived by his daughter Zoe Harbison (fiance’ Chris Parco) of Bellview, FL; his brother, Donald Harbison, Sr. (Cheryl) of Abbeville, AL; his sister, Elizabeth Frost (James) of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; his girlfriend, Etta Bush of Palmetto, FL; his sailing brother and extremely dear friend, Woody “Bull” Straub (Danielle and kids) of the Seas; his aunts Sharon Whittsett Wingard of Dunnellon, Florida, Jimie Stockyard Moran of Orlando, FL, Joann Harbison Brabeau of Dawsonville, GA, and Janis Harbison Corbin of Williston, FL; his uncle, Gerald Harbison (Velma) of Anthony, FL; his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
