JOHN MESSER

JOPLIN, MISSOURI… John Messer, a resident of Joplin, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was 55.

John will be cremated; and his ashes will be scattered at a later date at his favorite place, The Beach.

 Even though John Messer was a man of few words, here are some things he loved immensely: his kids, grandkids, the Republican Party, Auburn Tiger football, Heinz ketchup, chicken wings, the beach, and a cath lab. John spent the better part of the last two decades working as a contracted travel nurse specializing in cath labs all over the nation. His legacy will be remembered through the countless hours he imparted on those he mentored, his two adult children, and his four grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents: Billy Freeman Messer and Sharlene Williams Messer and sibling: Christopher Douglas Messer.

He is survived by his children: Joshua Messer (Rebecca Messer), Jordyn Butler (Zackary Butler), his grandchildren: Atticus and Magnolia Messer, Press and John Butler, siblings: Charles Lanning McGriff and Billy Freeman Messer Jr..
