FT GAINES, GA… Larry Lee Dawkins, a resident of the Ft. Gaines Nursing Home, Ft. Gaines, Georgia, formerly of Newville, Alabama, passed away Saturday morning, August 20, 2022, at a Dothan Hospital. He was 75.

Larry Lee Dawkins was born to the late David Lee Dawkins and Velma Hollis Dawkins on Oct. 6, 1946. He attended the rural schools of Newville, Al. Larry was a family man, a great cook, had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was infectious. He was very outspoken and lived his life on his terms and enjoyed life to the fullest. Larry departed this life on Aug. 20,2022 at a local hospital surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David Lee and Velma Dawkins, his daughter Angela Dawkins, his grandmother Willie Brackin, his brothers Charles L. Dawkins (Bob), Charles E. Dawkins, David L. Dawkins (Bill), and his sisters Lovely Lee Dawkins, Shelly A. Swann, Ethel Holmes, and Beverly Bethel.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Barbara Lawrence Dawkins, his children, Hessie and McKenzie Moore, Linda Dawkins, Velma Dawkins, Charles Dawkins, and 2 step sons, Emerson Moore and Kwan Hailger, his siblings, William L. Dawkins (Gail), Thomas E. Dawkins, Linda G. Dawkins, Danny Dawkins, Deborah Haynes (Frank), Kenny Dawkins, and Betty Lynn (Cody). He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
