Margaret was born in Crenshaw County, Alabama in 1932 to the late Phillip E. and Velma Walker Milton. She married Wilbur Glenn May on December 23, 1950, and had their first child Glenda. In 1954, Glenn finished his bachelor’s degree at Troy State College, and they moved to Hampton, Virginia. While in Virginia, Margaret gave birth to their second child, Timothy. The family then moved to Florida, where Glenn began his work as a civil servant with the U. S Air Force Mathematics Laboratory at Eglin Air Force Base. Margaret gave birth to their third child, Stephen, in Valparaiso, Florida. In 1977, Margaret and Glenn moved to Prattville, Alabama where they lived for ten years before returning to their home in Valparaiso, Florida. Throughout the years, Margaret dedicated herself to her marriage, raising their three children and to her church, First Baptist Church of Valparaiso, Florida, where she remains a member to this day. She worked tirelessly to create a wholesome environment for her family and instilled loyalty, compassion, and resilience, all traits her children and grandchildren still live by.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by the love of her life of 60+ years, Wilbur Glenn May; her brothers, James Allen Milton, and Phillip Lloyd Milton; and her granddaughter Hannah Noelle May.

Margaret is survived by her children, Glenda Hegland (Scott), Timothy May (Meg), and Stephen May; her grandchildren Chris Hegland and Heather Johnson (Matt); her great-grandchildren, Riley Kate and Allie Claire; her sisters-in-law, Gloria Sanders and Sandra Milton; and as well as her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews of the Milton and May families.
