PATRICIA ANN MONDAY TANTON

HEADLAND… Patricia Ann Monday Tanton, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, November 26, 2024, at her home. She was 74.

 Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Gateway Church, with Pastor Ruth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

 Mrs. Tanton was born in Brundridge, Alabama to the late James Senn and Helen Doster Senn. Teaching children was her passion. She was a teacher for thirty-one years & then substituted for another twenty years. She was the Grimes Gospel Lighthouse Coordinator, where they would have celebration with music and fellowship every Saturday night. She was a member of Gateway Church for over thirty-five years, where she was very active and played bass in the band.

 Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Tanton.

 Leaving to cherish her memories is her daughter, Sherri Kenyon Kopkie (Tony); her son, Patrick Monday; her step-children, Tommy Tanton (Athena), Blake Kopkie, Jesse Kopkie (Brandy), Cody Kopkie, and Zack Hughes (Olivia); her sister, Vivian Sanders (Don Carroll); her brother, Tommy Senn; her grandchildren, Lily Monday, Jeremy Monday, Ava Monday, Aiden Tanton, Austin Tanton, Nathaniel French, Hunter French, Elliott Kopkie, and Ellamae Kopkie; her aunt, Catherine Doster; and her uncle, J.D. Doster.

 Serving as active pallbearers will be Thomas Brown, Joshua Benton, John Phillips, Colton Kitts, Tony Jones, and John Hodgson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Jones, Clayton Kenyon, and Garrett Kelley.

 The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dayspring Hospice for their loving and compassionate care during this difficult time.
