ROBERT CLAY HOBGOOD

COLUMBIA…Robert Clay Hobgood, a resident of Columbia, AL, passed away Saturday morning, September 11, 2021, at his home. He was 87.

The family is having a private Celebration of Life Service at a later date.

Mr. Hobgood was born in Breman, Kentucky, to the late Oliver Clay Hobgood and Cordelia Crowley. At a very young age, he joined the United States Air Force and retired as a TSGT-E6. After his retirement he worked at a brewery for several years. He also worked and retired as a civil service officer.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his adopted parents, Johnny Jones and Belle Jones; his sisters, Mary, Wilda, LaVerne, Dorothy, Sarah, and Shirley Ann; and his brother Bobby.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Juanita Bowman Hobgood; his daughters, Margaret Brady (Virgil) of Eatonton, GA, Shelia Corona of Kannapolis, NC, Teresa Blackburn of Hendersonville, NC; his son, Carson Clay Hobgood (Emily) of Bremerton, WA; his step-daughter, Dana Byrd of Columbia; his brother, Bill Hobgood of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; his seven grandchildren, and his fifteen great-grandchildren.
