SUSAN RICHARDSON

EUFAULA… Susan Richardson, a resident of the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation in Abbeville, Alabama, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2025. She was 73.

Susan was born February 16, 1952, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late Martha and Edward Richardson, also of Eufaula. Susan, a long-time employee of Eufaula Fire & Rescue, was often heard praising the important job her co-workers performed daily in Eufaula.

A member of the Eufaula High School Class of 1970, Susan had many interests and activities during her life. They included family gatherings, her cats and dogs, music, movies, the beach, ‘Sista Trips’, time spent with her friends, and her many nieces and nephews. In addition, she was an outstanding cook and entertainer. It was her mission to prepare the favorite foods of her guests, set a pretty table, and enjoy good company. Those gatherings always included much love and laughter. Susan was a fun person to be with!

She is survived by her sister, Marilu Richardson Shaw (Scott) and her brother, Dr. Bill Richardson (Margaret). Susan was an aunt to Leslie Morgan (Jeff), Laura Richardson, Kallie Jackson (Todd), Claire Parsons (Michael), Dr. Megan Pageau (Chris), Dr. Ed Richardson (Caty), and Benjamin Shaw (Anna), and many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Henry County Health & Rehabilitation for their tireless attention to Susan and her needs.

The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
