SUZANNE CAMILLE JONES LOFTON

PANSEY… Suzanne Camille Jones Lofton, a resident of Pansey, Alabama, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, February 7, 2026, at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s/dementia disease. She was 79.

Known to family and friends as Suzie, she was born June 8, 1946 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Lawrence Howard Jones and Dorothy Belle Kimball Jones. Suzie was a loving wife of over 53 years. A devoted and caring mother and grandmother. A great friend to many. She spent much of her life in public service as Administrative Assistant to Hendry County Judge Broward Parsons, in the County Public Defender’s Office, as a Juvenile Arbitrator, and with the Hendry County Jail. She had a huge heart and a love for animals, especially horses and dogs, and enjoyed time outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Michelle Lynn Jones.

Survivors include her devoted and loving husband, Wayne Allen Lofton, of Pansey, AL; her daughter, Laurel Linn Lofton, of Pansey, AL; her son James Lawrence Lofton, of Ashford, AL; her three grandchildren, Aubrie Noel Lofton, Joel Allen Lofton and Camilla Rosa Panetta; her brother, David Lawrence Jones and wife, Patricia, of Raleigh, NC; her brother, Michael Jones and wife, Cheryl, of Bostic, NC; and her sister, Patricia Wegscheid of LaBelle, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to recognize the following family and close family friends as Honorary Pallbearers: Hudson Graham of Petaluma, CA; Larry Bennett of LaBelle, FL; Wayne Wortham of Wedowee, AL; J. Vee Lofton of LaBelle, FL; Max Lofton of LaBelle, FL; and Kevan Kelly of Ashford, AL.

The family would also like to thank DaySpring Hospice of Dothan, AL, with a special thanks to Olivia Starling.

Friends and family are welcome to visit the family home in Pansey.
